Dear Applicant,

Thank you for considering graduate studies in the Department of Biology at Colorado State University.

To find information about the Department of Biology at Colorado State University and how to apply please visit our website at http://www.biology.colostate.edu.

In addition to completing (1) the on-line application form (http://www.colostate.edu/~cwis177), the following supplemental materials must be submitted to the Department of Biology. (2) Two official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended (Colorado State University transcripts are not required), (3) Three letters of recommendation on or attached to our departmental form, (4) (GRE) scores  be reported from ETS to Colorado State University, and application information requested on the following departmental forms

(http://www.biology.colostate.edu/Graduate/applicationchecklist.html): (5) Statement of Goals, (6) Checklist of Research Interests.

Please Note:  Only completed applications are needed for financial support. It is essential you get these materials in by our stated deadlines.

Most teaching assistantships are awarded to start in fall semester for the full academic year.  A research assistantship, on the other hand, may be offered by an individual advisor if he/she has sufficient research funding to do so.

Due to the constraints of the academic year, please note the following deadlines.  Failure to submit complete application materials by these dates typically results in long processing delays, limited opportunities for support, and negative decisions.

            Starting Fall Semester            January 15

            Starting Spring Semester       November 1

You are welcome to check the status of your file with our graduate coordinator at (970) 491-1923, or e-mail: biogradsec@colostate.edu.

Sincerely,

Dr. Daniel Bush

Professor and Chair
