Dr. Richard T. Ward, who was a member of the Department of Biology until 1990, passed on April 9, 2014. At Colorado State, Dr. Ward began his work on ecology of alpine and arctic plant ecosystems in the Botany and Plant Pathology Department in 1958, serving as Chair from 1966-1975. He became a member of the Biology Department after a merger of departments within the College of Natural Sciences. His son Justin Ward has written an obituary, published in Today on April 16 and the Fort Collins Coloradoan on April 14.
