Question: When did you start at CSU and in what capacity?

Answer: I just celebrated my two-year anniversary in the biology department last month!

Q: What does your work look like?

A: My work is a mix of teaching and research.

I’m teaching two courses. One is an upper-level course on algae with a dozen students, and the other is a first-year introduction to plants that has several hundred students. I am also directing an active research program on photosynthesis, the process by which plants and algae use light energy to make chemicals that fuel life. I work with four excellent graduate students and four superb undergraduates in the lab.
