Welcome
The Mueller lab recently welcomed post-doc Rachel Schwartz from UC Davis and graduate student Becky Chong from UC Berkeley. Rachel S. has a background in conservation genetics and is now working on phylogenetic methodology. Becky works on phylogeography and systematics of reptiles and amphibians.
Postdoctoral fellow Kyoung Sun Kim joins the Mykles lab for one year. She is from Busan, Korea. Welcome!
Postdoc Kyoung Sun Kim has joined the Mykles lab to study the role of myostatin in skeletal muscle atrophy. She received her Ph.D. from Pukyong National University in Busan, Korea.
On the Road
Dhruba Naug traveled to Arizona State University to present a seminar on his research to the Insect Science group from ASU and University of Arizona.
Prof. Don Mykles travels to Washington, DC for a NSF review panel Oct. 22-24.
Special Assistant Professor Arathi Seshadri visited the University of Tubingen, Germany during September 2008 and presented in a workshop on "Sexual Strategies in Animals and Plants" funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.
Assistant Professor Lisa Angeloni participated in The Institute on Teaching and Mentoring, a conference that represents the largest gathering of minority doctoral scholars in the country, held in Tampa, Florida, October 23-26.
