Wild relatives of crop species are essential to the continued survival and improvement of plant food sources. The tomatoes are one such crop which have been majorly improved via the introgression and careful breeding of wild characteristics into the cultivated species. However, many barriers exist during reproduction among and within the 13 species of tomato which impede crop improvement. I am interested in the evolution and history of these reproductive barriers in wild tomato.
