I am interested in studying the influence of environmental and nutritional factors on the physiology of animals that live in the harshest environments. I have a vested interest in big cats, from the snow leopards occupying some of the highest altitudes of any other animal, to the cheetah, which can achieve incredible speeds and withstand a large amount of force from the ground. It is my desire to formulate an integrative approach to my research into physiology and its influences on and from environment and behavioral factors. I am currently researching the influence of specific values of lipid concentrations based on prey in the skeletal muscles of otariids. I hope to develop my knowledge of physiology and its variances, and be able to apply it to the whole animal in an integrative manner, so as to achieve a representative idea of what an animal is able to achieve.
