The Graduate School at Colorado State has appointed Dr. Greg Florant as the director of the Graduate Center for Diversity and Access (GCDA). As director, he will lead the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) Fellowship Program as well as the Professional Development Program for Graduate Students of Color.  The program is funded by a >$1M grant from the National Science Foundation, and is designed to broaden the participation of underrepresented minority graduate students in the STEM fields.  Both programs aim to support students of color and enhance their graduation rates through a range of activities.  Adds Dr. Florant: “I am really excited to be able to help students find their potential, especially in following their passion for science as they gain advanced degrees. This will be the next generation of scientists.”
