Dr. Pat Bedinger has been named a Professor Laureate in the College of Natural Sciences at Colorado State University for 2013-2014.  This is the highest recognition in the College, and is for Dr. Bedinger’s outstanding work as a Master Teacher and a research mentor, and for leading a large multi-university research group investigating the molecular genetic basis of speciation and diversity in wild tomatoes in South America.  Additionally, Dr. Bedinger was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for 2014 to support her sabbatical leave in Ecuador, where she will be able to translate her molecular work from the laboratory directly to examining natural populations in the Andes Mountains, and will lead several genomics workshops at two Ecuadorean universities.  Dr. Bedinger will be presenting her research in during a special seminar in her honor during Fall of 2013.
