Biology Department scientists LeRoy Poff and Chris Funk have received a grant that extends their NSF-funded EvoTrac project. The proposed research, “RAPID – Effects of an Extreme Disturbance Event on Genomic Variation and Community Organization of Stream Insects” provides funds to re-sample aquatic insects from a number of streams along the Front Range that were sampled last summer before the catastrophic floods in September 2013. The project is a collaboration with scientists from Cornell University.
