Research: I work on the ecology and epidemiology of zoonotic diseases i.e., transmitted among and between wildlife and human populations. I am currently investigating tick-borne diseases in California (Lyme disease, tick-borne relapsing fevers), the ecological conditions that impact zoonotic disease outbreaks, and the relationships between biodiversity and emerging infectious diseases.
