Scholarships provide much needed support for undergraduate students in the Biology Department and are used to recruit talented new students.

Applicants for all Biology, CNS and CSU awards must use the Colorado State University Scholarship Application (CSUSA) system.

Bruno Klinger Memorial

This is a privately funded scholarship created in the memory of Professor Klinger by his family and friends.

Criteria: Priority given to a senior majoring in botany. Second choice, a senior biology major with an emphasis in botany. Third choice, a botany graduate student. All must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.

Jo Ann Marchand Scholarship in Biology

This scholarship was created by CSU alumna, Jo Ann Marchand, to benefit undergraduate students in biology. Raised in the beauty of rural Colorado, Jo Ann would like to help create meaningful opportunities for students who share her love of conservation.
Criteria: Freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student in Biology. Preference shall be given to students who are from farm, ranch or rural areas. Good academic standing with a 3.5 GPA.

Martha Ann Henson Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created by alumnus Tim Henson to honor the memory of his wife, Martha “Ann” Henson, her passion and contributions to Botany, and their experiences together at CSU. It provides scholarships to undergraduate in Biology with a preference for students concentrating in Botany.
Criteria: Freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student in Biology. Preference shall be given to students with a concentration in Botany. Good academic standing with a 3.4 GPA.

William Kreutzer Scholarship

William A. Kreutzer was an Assistant Dean of the College of Science and Arts for Colorado State University and a professor of botany and plant pathology until his retirement in 1974. This fund encourages the study of botany at Colorado State University.

Criteria: Sophomore, junior, or senior botany major. Good academic standing with a 3.5 GPA. Financial need.

Native American Women in Science Scholarship

Created by the estate of Katharine Douglass to help the College of Natural Sciences and the Department of Biology recruit and retain women from specific indigenous groups to become undergraduate or graduate students in the sciences. Recipients exhibit strong academic performance and are enrolled in the natural sciences. Further details available in a PDF Flyer.

Criteria: An undergraduate or graduate student majoring in the sciences who demonstrates strong academic performance and financial need. Must be a registered female member of a U.S. federally recognized Indian tribe or a member of an indigenous tribe in Canada, Mexico, or Central America.

Dr. Arne K. Peitersen Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student in science in honor of Dr. Peitersen.

Criteria: Applicant must be an outstanding sophomore student in science.
