January 5, 2026, CSU will be switching to a new Human Capital Management (HCM) software, Workday. Given the change to this new HCM system, Open Pool postings for Instructors, Research Associates, Scientists and Postdocotal Fellows, will look different and may take additional time to be posted. This also applies to Student and Graduate job opportunities as well.

Research Staff Opportunities
The Department of Biology at Colorado State University (CSU) is one of eight departments in the College of Natural Sciences. The Department of Biology seeks applications from individuals who are interested in obtaining temporary or special research positions within the department in the areas of cell and molecular biology, physiology of plants or animals, animal behavior, ecology, evolutionary biology and computational/theoretical biology.
The open pool positions are posted on six-month cycles for people to apply that are interested in working with our department in a research role. If/when a faculty member decides to hire a Research Associate, they may elect to hire from the candidates in this open pool. More job-specific information will be available at that time.
Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted. When an open pool expires candidates who wish to remain in consideration are encouraged to apply to the next open posting that will appear a day after the previous posting is closed.

This is a work-study position; applicant must be eligible for work-study to apply.
Start Date and Hourly Rate
There are several openings within the department beginning in SP26. Candidates are encouraged to apply early. We are prepared to begin offering positions as early as January, 2026, with a starting pay rate of $15.16/hour. We anticipate hiring approximately 20 students from this posting.
