All of her teaching and mentoring surround the idea that an understanding of biology helps people to make informed decisions regarding topics ranging from medicine to agriculture to the environment.

Dr. Wangeline's research is focused on the evolution of selenium hyperaccumulation in filamentous fungi, the ecology of the White Nose Syndrome pathogen and pedagogy development for STEM undergraduate student success in the natural sciences. When not working, you will find her spending time with her family and friends enjoying the outdoors, reading, and traveling.
