About

Rebekah is the Director of Animal Care and Education at Heritage Farm - a Smithsonian Affiliate Appalachian History Museum in Huntington, West Virginia. There, she celebrates the importance of native wildlife and encourages curiosity and care within each guest for the animals that live in their own back yards. Through this program, she hopes to grow her knowledge and connections to expand Heritage Farm's natural history components to include a wildlife rehabilitation center and wildlife park. For her capstone, she is working on designing a collaborative study on best practices for the enrichment of rehabilitated native wildlife that are now educational ambassadors in managed care. Specific species of interest for the study at this time are Virginia Opossums, Striped Skunks, and Red Foxes.
