Topic: Reimagining Agriculture in Times of Population Growth and Decline
Agriculture has sustained human civilization for millennia, but the 21st century presents unprecedented challenges. Global population is projected to surge by 2050 before declining after a peak around 2080, creating dramatic shifts in food demand and resource pressures. In this seminar, I will explore how advances in plant synthetic biology and robotics can drive innovation to ensure sustainable agriculture for the coming century and beyond.
